Visit WP-Admin for your site

Select "plugins"

Select "Settings"

(ensure the above checkbox IS NOT checked so it will retain settings when you install the latest production version.

Go back to main plugins screen and select "deactivate"

Answer the popup about why you are uninstalling

Now select "Delete" 

On the pop-up select "yes"
